Soda City FC Summer Training Program

The Soda City FC Summer Training Program is designed for players of all levels who want to learn and improve their fundamental soccer skills in a fun creative environment.  Players are given the unique opportunity to receive individual instruction from Soda City FC coaching staff and players. 

Each session is designed to promote proper technique, spatial awareness and attacking or defensive minded futbol.  Players are grouped in to like age groups for training and games.

Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays starting July 6th going through July 29th

Times: 6:30-8:30pm

Location: Lexington County Soccer Complex

Age Groups for Boy’s and Girl’s:

  • 04/05
  • 06/07
  • 08/09
  • 10/11
  • 12/13

Cost: $150

Session Itinerary:

6:30 PM - 6:45 PM

Warm Up with Soda City FC Coach

6:45 PM - 7:15 PM

Individual Ball Skill Session

7:20 PM - 7:55 PM

Circuit Training / Stations / Group Session

7:55 PM - 8:00 PM

Break and split into teams for games

8:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Small Sided Games (The last week of the program will be full sided games)


Program Curriculum:

Week One: 

Technical Focus - Ball Mastery, Dribbling, 1v1 attacking and running with the ball
Tactical Focus- Decision making of when to pass, dribble or shoot
Physical Focus- Agility

Week Two:

Technical Focus - Passing and Receiving the ball without pressure and under pressure
Tactical Focus- Creating space and support play, movement, rotation and awareness
Physical Focus- Balance

Week Three:

Technical Focus - Defending 1v1 and 2v2
Tactical Focus - When to intercept or delay/pressure, cover and balance
Physical Focus - Speed

Week Four:

Technical Focus - Various types of finishing and transitions 3v3, 4v4, 5v5
Tactical Focus - Creating chances attacking wide and central, game application going from defense to attack
Physical Focus – Mental strength

Goalkeeping Session Focus:

  • technical/tactical training (week 1)
  • distribution (week 2)
  • angle play (week 2)
  • communication (week 3)
  • speed and agility (week 3)
  • reaction and recovery (week 4)
