Do players need to tryout for the Lexington SA Program?
Yes, every single player who is looking to play for Lexington SA within our Select Program for the 2024-2025 season will have to sign up for and attend tryouts.

What do I wear at tryouts?
The tryout fee covers the cost of the tryout t-shirt which will be handed out at registration. Each player will be expected to wear the tryout t-shirt for each tryout they attend. Players are expected to wear cleats and shin-guards.

Will the current team my child plays on remain the same next season?
No, each year tryouts determine what the teams for the 2024-2025 season will look like. Having pre-determined teams undermines the tryout process.

My child played on the Gold team during the 2023-2024 season. Does that mean they are guaranteed to play on the Gold team for the 2024-2025 season?
No. Players will have to tryout to guarantee their place for the Gold team. This is to ensure fairness to all tryout attendees.

Does my child have to attend all tryout dates for their age group?
The club strongly recommends that players attend both tryout dates. This allows for us to provide more informed decisions regarding player placement and team formation. Should you be unable to attend both but would like to, please contact us at info@lexingtonsocceracademy.com so we can arrange for you to attend another appropriate tryout.

I am looking for my child to play "up" an age-group, is this possible?
The club wishes to clarify what will constitute players being eligible to play up a year, e.g. a 2009 birth date player trying out for a 2008 team. This club will assess each player on a case-by-case basis. The decision to move a player up an age group will be solely a soccer decision. In order to play up, a player must exhibit an exceptional skill set in order for the club to grant this. We are looking for our teams to be as strong as possible and for players to be placed in the appropriate environment. The decision for a player to play up is at the club's discretion, our intention is to build strong age groups at all age groups.
